The AMT takes place over the course of one year, with a cohort of up to 28 people. Multiple cohorts can operate simultaneously. The cohorts and the smaller practicum groups become a powerful environment for growth and learning. A cohort can include a diverse range of employees, from newly appointed managers to executives looking to develop greater capacity. The curriculum is focused on both soft skills as well as practical competencies that have been proven time and again to have the greatest impact on a manager’s success. It is aimed at creating dynamic, effective and emotionally intelligent managers capable of leading diverse groups and creating high-functioning teams.
For maximum effectiveness, we recommend managers enter the training after a minimum of 2-3 months experience in their role. Having challenges and experience to reflect upon, as well as a place to practice what's being learned is essential for learning and skills development. The training is held online, in an interactive video format. Each cohort has its own online course portal, with training materials, workbooks and resources for each module. The training is experiential, highly interactive and engaging.
Included in the design of the AMT is a Monthly Executive Session with senior management in which we will review the topics the trainees are learning and guide execs on how to apply and provide leadership in these areas. Research shows that the more the training is understood and endorsed by the leadership of the organization, the more integrated the skills become. We find it essential for company executives to understand, support and align with the methods the managers are bringing into the organization.
Each module includes:
Online Live Video Training: Cohort (up to 28 participants)meets once a month for a 3-hour facilitated training.
Practicum Groups: Small groups (5-7 people) meet once a month for 90-120 minutes for coaching, discussion, practice and integration of learning.
Executive Session: An abbreviated 1.5 hour monthly training session for company executives to align with key models and skills being imparted in the training.
Online portal: Our online portal organizes training materials, recordings, group conversations and helps track student participation. Each module contains recommended reading, videos, and a range of curated learning resources. Participants use their job as an environment for learning and discovery, integrating the homework practice into their work.
Expert Facilitation: Each AMT cohort is facilitated by two expert Aurum trainers, with decades of experience in leadership, facilitation, emotionally intelligent management skills and human development. Each module is taught by one or both facilitators, and each small group is assigned a dedicated facilitator.
Over the course of the training, each participant will choose a project to work on that fits with the company’s larger goals, and benefits both the company and the trainee’s development.
Each participant will be focusing on a specific, personal, area of growth and development during the program, and will receive support for their personal journey as part of the practicum groups.
Consulting and support: Consulting, coordination and debriefs with leadership about progress, challenges, and any issues that come up along the way.
