At Aurum we are dedicated to bringing authenticity, compassion and courage into leadership. The LBX program brings personal and leadership development together, teaching leaders to be human and humans to be leaders.
If we don’t recognize what is really going on, we don’t have any choice or agency about it. Self-honesty is not about shame, guilt or our inner critic having a field day with us. It’s about being honest and real, including those aspects of ourselves or our lives that we don’t like.
Self-compassion creates an atmosphere of human kindness that allows us to be honest. Self-compassion isn’t a free pass or shrugging off our mistakes -- it’s acknowledging that as human beings we are all doing the best we can. Compassion reminds us of the broader arc of growth and development, even when things are a mess.
As leaders, we are responsible for our actions and the impact they have. We inevitably make mistakes, stumble, impact others with our blind spots and step on people’s toes. When we are both compassionate and honest in these moments, we actually have the opportunity to grow from these challenges.
True leaders want to know what their blind spots are. When we know our own blind spots, we can harness the power of self-awareness and understand the real impact we are having in our lives. Seeking to understand this impact can lead us to a kind of self-reflection that inevitably requires self-compassion. Self-awareness without self-compassion rarely leads to growth - it most often leads to self-criticism.
Coupling self-honesty with self-compassion gives us the power to see ourselves clearly, make changes and make a strong and positive impact in this world.
At LBX: Leadership Breakthrough Training we make space to see and feel the impact we’re having on others and our own life when we operate from outdated strategies and habits.
This opens the door to a new way of showing up.
At LBX we get real-time experience operating from our resilient, whole, resourced self -- and getting dramatically better results.
